In our Isaiah study this last week, I came across Isaiah 11:9 Which says the knowledge of Jehovah will fill the earth like the waters cover the sea. At first, this sounded like there is the need to spread the Word of God across the globe and teach people, which there is. Upon further study, I cross referenced to Habakkuk 2:14 which says that the knowledge of THE GLORY of Jehovah will fill the earth as the waters cover the sea. This verse is almost the same but includes the phrase ‘the glory’. What is ‘the glory’? Ephesians 3:21 says that the glory is in THE CHURCH by Christ Jesus, throughout all generations, forever and ever, Amen. For the knowledge of the glory of Jehovah to fill the earth, there is the need for THE CHURCH to cover the earth. Another verse that helped me is 2 Thessalonians 3:1, That the word of the Lord may run AND BE GLORIFIED. Again, there is the need of spreading the Word of God but that’s not all. Glory is mentioned again. A simple definition of glory is God expressed. The day by day church life filled with people expressing God in their daily life must fill the earth.

That’s awesome. I’ve never seen that the glory of God can be directly linked to the church. It reminds me of Matthew 5: “A city set on a hill can not be hidden.” That is the collective influence of the kingdom people upon the earth. The church can not be hidden. Its presence is the presence of God’s glory.
